Carl Reed
Carl has worked in Family Law for over 30 years and has specialised in Children Act proceedings for the last 25 years. A longstanding member of The Law Society's Children Panel, Carl represents parents, and family members in care proceedings and disputes with social services regarding their children, as well as frequently being appointed by the court to represent children who are the subject of such proceedings.
Carl is known for a direct and forthright approach and for robust representation of each client’s interests where necessary. Gavin qualified as a solicitor in July 2016 having graduated from Northumbria University. Gavin practices exclusively in Family Law. Nick Strong
Nick has been qualified as a Solicitor for over 40 years. Nick is highly experienced in family law, in particular financial matters arising from divorce; Nick has specialised in this area for over twenty five years, and dealt with cases of all levels, including 'big money' cases.

Debra Simpson
Debra Simpson joined the firm at the beginning of 2014 as a very experienced private client solicitor in the fields of wills probate and trusts, together with matrimonial cases. Debra has specialised in contentious probate and matrimonial matters for over fifteen years but currently focuses solely on Wills & Probate.
Debra is dual-qualified with both a biology degree and the common professional exam. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1988. Debra has worked in local high street practice for the whole of her professional life and has a breadth of experience including lecturing in law at Middlesbrough College. Laura Boyes
Laura is very well-known to the firm as she was once our receptionist, starting as an apprentice. Laura said she wanted to 'get her law degree', and that is what she did.

Laura graduated from Teesside University in 2018 and went on to achieve her Master's Degree and Legal Practice Course at Sunderland University, graduating in 2019. Laura qualified as a Solicitor in November 2022.

Helen has worked for the firm for several years as a secretary and has good ground knowledge of the issues within family law. In 2016, Helen was appointed as a legal clerk. She will attend Child Protection Meetings in order to offer support to clients, attend with clients in order to obtain their instructions for statements and will make applications for Legal Aid whenever Legal Aid may be available.
